Why no pierceable gas cartridge available for purchase in the U.S.?
I went mountain climbing in Europe, Oceania and Asia there are plenty of pierceable gas cartridge available to be connected to a camping stove or portable torch. When I get to U.S. there is not even an issue like to buy. Nothing Jetboil, MSR, Snowpeak, or Coleman. All brand seems to have its own brand of stove and only their own brand of gas cartridge can be mounted. Thanks in advance, Brian
Ive run into this issue and unfortunately simple marketing, not making a uniform gas cartridge when a consumer buys a grill coleman for example, are stuck with using a gas cartridge coleman grills, however, some may be jimmy'd a little cooperation in case of necessity last instance, your stuck with the choice of a grid and finding the propane cartridge that fits unless you find an alternative way of cooking, which is difficult to open fire with many restrictions for national parks and forests
