I have problems with a network printer. I can send the print job, but not printed. Help?
I am a network printer with a Link DP-301P + server Print-D. The printer is a OKI Data Microline 321. I set the correct print server. I compared the values of other printers that I have set that are working properly. When I send a print job, is said to be sent. If the monitor on the print server configuration, it displays a status of "printing" printer, but nothing prints ever. I get an error and not see the print job sitting in a queue anywhere. Not sure what else to do. Help! So I printer a little work now with the print server. However, when you send a job to it, it prints a bunch of jibberish, and does not stop. Printed as a line on a page, then goes to the next page and prints another line and continue doing this until the paper that I put in it is gone. I'm thinking could be a driver issue, but I tried a few different drivers to no avail. Suggestions?
The first thing to check is the IP of the printer. Ensure the IP is correctly entered in the print server. The following is so make sure you have selected the correct speed (ie something big). Many times, old printers or printer ports after speed are configured incompatible. Make sure you are set to 100 Mbs or car if it does not work. Finally, you may need to try another cable. Connect the printer with another cable and see if the print server, then print. If all else fails, go to the print server manufacturer and see if they have a firmware update. MANY times firmware updates to correct these types of problems. GL
