The printer does not work need help!?
I can not get the printer to work. Im using Windows 98 because their computer for my work. The message error there was an error writing to LPT1: for printer [HP LaserJet IIP Plus]: An error timeout occurred printer. to increase the waiting time for the printer settings, open the Printers folder, click the icon for your printer, click the File menu and then click Properties. To continue printing, click retry. Windows will automatically retry after 5 seconds.
Best bet to turn off PC (shutdown) turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds and turn the PC back on track again. Failing that, try opening a DOS window and type DIR> LPT1: to send a directory listing to the printer plain text, 2 LaserJet simply to be printed. Otherwise either the port or the printer does not work.
