Brief history of printing and printer cartridges
Since prehistoric times man has communicated through a type of printing. What began as mere images or images recorded on a cave wall with a sharp stone or a stick burning has become an industry of billions of pounds. These days the life would not be the same without the ability to print, everything from banknotes to a bus ticket includes the printing of some kind.
It is unlikely the caveman first time an image nothing can see the importance of print, I could never imagine that thousands of man years later would develop printing technology and the total dependence of this technology we have today. The earliest forms of printing were repeated mass printing, more Old news known dates back to 1452, invented by a man named Guttenburg. The only printer we recognize today followed much later.
It's been a long journey from cave paintings to the high quality photos and documents can now print to ourselves, the ability to be able to print these things at home and in the office are due mainly to recent advances in inkjet printer and laser printer technology, back in 1938 when Chester invented Carleson the first photo printing process called electro dry (commonly called Xerox), things began to change dramatically, Xerox Engineer, Gary Starkweather existing Xerox printer adapted by adding a laser to the reproduction, which set the mark for the future of laser printers.
When other companies were investing time and effort in developing other versions of laser printing technology. HP developed the first laser printer having a print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch) around the world, the HP LaserJet 4 became very popular and Hewlett Packard, although they have not made one each year there are still many of them around the printer and cartridges are still in circulation, which is a testament to the quality of construction by Hewlett Packard.
The advent of laser printers with dry printing technology not mean the end for printing wet ink, although it was good laser printer, color laser printing was not yet developed and there a void in the industry at Hewlett Packard that was about to fill. In 1976, the inkjet printer was invented, but it was not until 1978 that became a user household item with the launch of the series HP Deskjet Printer that sold for $ 1000 each mass.
The development of inkjet printer has not been all plain sailing once again a company worked hard to perfect the new technology. There were problems with the ink supply control ink and times drying and many others. Again there were front runners and Hewlett Packard along with Canon at the forefront in developing not only an entirely new delivery system ink held within the wet ink, but also a removable printer cartridge that was purpose built to deliver ink cartridge on paper. Much effort and probably the blood and sweat went into the development of the printer cartridge. Almost all modern printers have a cartridge in the heart of it, without the print cartridge the printer is useless and vice versa. Printer cartridges today can be divided into two main categories, laser cartridges and ink cartridges. The difference between the two is large, are totally different types of technology. The cartridge ink laser printer uses a dry powder sometimes known as toner and ink cartridge uses wet ink.
The manufacture of printing technology has spread so far and there are a few different companies that each has its own type of printers and printer cartridges. Hewlett Packard is one of the largest companies are also Lexmark, Canon, Epson and Xerox.
Many buildings cartridges recycling printer, most printer cartridges can be remanufactured and refilled at least once. Print cartridges are generally refilled or remanufactured a low-cost, many people choose refilled cartridges, as it is considered a more ecologically-minded printing.
Who knows printers that the future will be so, it will still depend on the humble ink cartridge, use e-mail and Internet searches have been undoubtedly an effect on the levels printed, but in the foreseeable future, there will always be a need to print one physical copy of some sort, or at least until the next big innovation of printers and printing technology, that we must wait and see ………
